As La Poirier is part of
a small settlement of 6 houses with friendly neighbours, there
is total privacy and tranquility.
The immediate area around the gites is flat,
offering easy walking and cycling and as they are at the end
of the settlement there
is no through traffic, and with very little traffic activity
from the 5 neighbouring houses it is very safe for children. |

A 10 minute walk will take you down
to the gorge with its’ beautiful
riverside walks, and mountain bike tracks.
The wildlife is prolific with buzzards,
falcons, owls, an
assortment of small birds, including nightingales,kingfishers, lizards, snakes,
coypu in the river, lots of frogs and toads, preying mantis,
humming bird moths, glow worms, grass hoppers and beautiful selection
of butterflies and moths.
In the spring the profusion and variety of wild flowers and
plants is reminiscent of English country lanes of yesteryear.
